With Robin in Rotterdam

Today I went to Rotterdam with my son Robin. We had only three goals: having fun, eating and drinking something delicious and buying him a new acoustic guitar. We succeeded three times! I also wanted to take some pictures as part of the fun, but today was a wet and dreary day, so I switched my camera to sepia. The window of the music shop was decorated with old instruments (probably traded in by their former owners), so this was a nice addition to my nostalgic mood. It was a great day, no matter the weather. And Robin is very happy with his new Yamaha western guitar, of course.

King Kong in Rotterdam - updated

This big male gorilla called Bokito escaped today in Rotterdam's Zoo Blijdorp... Several people were wounded, one woman was dragged away and bitten by this big animal - according to news reports she is severely wounded. The gorilla has been captured again. Brrr - I'm happy we didn't visit this zoo today! Dutch TV

A woman protecting her child in the restaurant of Rotterdam's Zoo Blijdorp. Both visitors and Bokito were panicking. Bokito also escaped from Berlin zoo in 2004, when he climbed over a three-metre glass wall. He was moved to Rotterdam in 2005. Some other gorilla's (one male, two females) were recently transported to Shanghai Zoo. Just my guess, but could it be that Bokito is angry about this?

I do not condemn theologians wholesale, but it is unfortunately the fashion in Western thinking to doubt and deny everything. I protest this tendency. I never advise anyone to consult theologians, because all too often they have completely lost all sense of spiritual reality. In the Bible clouds are always associated with God. Clouds are the sorrows, sufferings, or providential circumstances, within or without our personal lives, which actually seem to contradict the sovereignty of God. Yet it is through these very clouds that the Spirit of God is teaching us how to walk by faith. If there were never any clouds in our lives, we would have no faith.
