No blogging for a while...

It will be very quiet here for a while because of our holidays which are due to begin. But don't worry, there's plenty of cyberspace left to explore... In the meantime, feel free to leave a comment or drop me a line abspoel at gmail dot com - and I will reply later.

Whatever you are planning to do this Summer: have a great time too!

Enjoy the vacation time with the family. Make some memories and then come back and tell us all about them. Looking forward to sitting down with you over a good cup of coffee and lightning fast internet connection!

As a sensible man, I think this might interest you. http://www.yale.edu/langcoglab/papers/bloom&weisberg%20science.pdf
(And no, it doesn't mean that God doesn't exist.)

Was Descartes so badly deluded when he concludeed that there must be what he termed the "uncaused cause"? And how do you know with such certainty that these self-appointed, government-funded high priests of science have figured out something that Newton, Einstein, Maxwell and Descartes all missed.

I would argue with the author of that article that causation is more than a childish notion; it's the unavoidable conclusion of the first two laws of thermodynamics, yet up against the laws that govern the universe evolutionary "scientists" claim as the central tenet of their faith their assertion that there is no such "uncaused cause".

Pardon my naivete, but I don't have faith enough to believe that there is no Creator.

Paul--
Please pardon my filling your comment column with a response to another commenter. I do look forward to your return.

Seems everyone is taking a break from blogging. OK - not everyone but quite a few of us. Hope you're vacation is going well.

Hi Rodney, Mike, John, Bob, Vicki, David and Carolanne! We are back from France and I can't wait to show you some pics and share some of our experiences! Hope you are all okay, thanks for visiting my blog and leaving a comment. And Bob, it's OK to have polite discussions in my comments section (if they are not polite, I can always use my delete option!)

@ Anonymous friend - thanks for visiting. Here is an answer from a sensible and sensitive man. God knows your name and I am not going to defend God, because He doesn't need my help ;-) This is my prayer, that He will speak to you in the next few days. Please keep an open mind (and an open heart).

This is what I have to say: kids are often right, adults are often wrong. Artists have another way of looking at the world than scientists. I think artists often have a deeper understanding of the world. There are more ways to be right, there are more ways to experience truth.

Does it make a difference where you are born? Of course it does. Does it make a difference how you are raised? Of course it does. Please let me know why you think that this Yale article has anything to do with me - be more specific please and do feel free to give up your anonymity.

In the meantime let me tell you this: God exists even if some people like to believe otherwise.

By the way, you exist too - even when you hide your face and name from me. You need to be explained.

God's name is I AM and He is way too big to be explained (away). I know that science is not able to explain Him or contain Him. He is not a scientific concept. He is not a religious idea. He is GOD and He is the Creator of everything that exists. He is UNCREATED and He is the only sensible explanation for the existence of the Universe.

Maybe you just don't know me well enough - I am not anti-science and I am not anti-intellectual. I am only puzzled by the fact that some people can read the book of life without recognizing the hand of the great Author. If I look at a stunning painting or hear a beautiful piece of music, I am sure that there must be a painter / a composer. No doubt.

Let me tell you something about the first cause. In the Netherlands we have something called "domino day". Each year they invite a VIP to push the first domino stone. Without a push of one finger, the first stone will not fall. Without cause, no effect. Think about that - it's very scientific. God is the First and the Last. He is Love. And you are the child He desires to embrace. It's a matter of the heart. It's like falling in love. Deny love access to your heart, and you will never experience it. Give it some thought, my friend.
