Definition of sin

Sin isn’t only doing bad things, it is more fundamentally making good things into ultimate things. Sin is building your life and meaning on anything, even a very good thing, more than on God. Whatever we build our life on will drive us and enslave us. Sin is primarily idolatry. -Tim Keller, Talking About Idolatry in a Postmodern Age

hmmmmmmm. I'm thinking about this one

So am I, Mike. Have a look at the article by Tim Keller (link at the end of the quote), because it makes perfect sense. God will not accept second place in our lives - taking away the glory that belongs to Him alone is the essence of sin (putting someone else or something else above God). I think that Tim Keller has some important things to say about this!

Paul,

The words "I will not give my glory to another" come to mind. Your right the Lord will not be second to anything.
There is a lot to chew on here. I will let you know when I recover.
