Maybe it's not about Jesus choosing to go to heaven with me. Could there be something even deeper? Is it about Jesus bringing glory to GOD through his actions.

I agree with you, Mike. Jesus brings glory to God, the Father brings glory to the Son, the Spirit brings glory to both of them... Maybe they all want to have us in heaven to share in this eternal celebration of love and glory?
